From Google Ads to Zhengzhou Yard: DR Congo Buyer Chooses 3 Used Yutong Buses

I still remember the message that popped up on my WhatsApp in March 2024. A short note from someone in DR Congo, asking about affordable preowned Yutong buses. Nothing unusual — I get inquiries every week. But this one turned into a journey that lasted almost a year and a half, and ended with the man flying all the way to Zhengzhou to see our refurbished buses with his own eyes.

That’s the kind of story that sticks with you.

The First Contact

The date was March 9, 2024. I know because I save every inquiry that comes through our Google Ads campaigns. His name was new to me, his tone polite but very careful. “I want to know if your company is real,” he wrote after I introduced myself. Fair enough. If I were in Kinshasa searching online, I’d probably be suspicious too.

So I explained who I was — Linda Jin, sales expert at Tianying Used Bus — and gave him our website: www.tianyingusedbus.com. “You can check our stock online,” I told him. “And if you want, we can video call so you know I’m not a robot.” He laughed at that. It was a good start.

Months of Back and Forth

He said he needed buses around 11–12 meters. Nothing too old. Air-conditioning was important. His routes in Congo would be long and hot. Right away, I thought of the Yutong ZK6115 and ZK6121. These two models are common across Africa. Spare parts are everywhere, and the engines can take rough roads.

I sent him photos and specs. He replied with questions. I answered. Then silence for a while. That’s how these things usually go — long pauses, then a sudden question in the middle of the night.

By June 2025, we had just bought two 2nd-hand Yutong ZK6115 buses from a passenger transport company in Linfen, Shanxi Province. Good buses. They had been used for intercity service, and the company kept them in decent condition. Two months later, in August, we picked up a used ZK6121 from a leasing firm in Kaifeng, Henan Province. Also a nice unit, well-maintained.

I sent him fresh photos and short videos. This time, his reply was quick:
“Linda, I need to come and see them myself.”

The Visit

A week later, he was on a plane to Zhengzhou.

I went to the airport to meet him. He looked tired but curious, pulling a small suitcase behind him. On the drive to our yard, he asked me about Chinese food, about how long I’d been working in this business, about the weather. Normal small talk. But I could feel the weight behind his trip — three buses are not a small purchase for a transport operator in Africa.

When we reached the yard, the sun was hot. The buses stood in neat rows, engines silent, metal bodies still holding the warmth. I led him to the two ZK6115s first. He ran his hand along the body, checked the doors, stepped inside to feel the seats. Then he opened the engine compartment. He didn’t rush.

Next was the ZK6121. He wanted me to start it. I turned the key, and the engine rumbled to life. He stood close, listening. After a while, he just nodded. “Yes. This one too.”

We spent almost the whole afternoon in the yard. I didn’t push. I let him take his time.

The Decision

On September 8, 2025, he confirmed:

  • Two ZK6115s
  • One ZK6121

I can’t describe the feeling. We had been talking for 18 months. Many salespeople give up if the buyer doesn’t close in a week. But with international trade, especially for first-time buyers, it takes time. A lot of time.

He told me over tea later: “Linda, many sellers talk big, but they don’t show real buses. You were patient, and that’s why I trusted you.”

That sentence made all the effort worth it.

Why He Picked Us

From what he shared, here’s what convinced him:

  • Real stock– Not random photos pulled from the internet. He saw actual buses, and finally, he touched them himself.
  • Clear communication– Even when months went by, I always answered his questions.
  • Transparency– I gave full reports, not just polished pictures.
  • Support– In addition to selling, we also offer customers with detailed documents and shipping process too. That’s important for someone sending buses across the ocean.

What I Took Away

This case reminded me of a simple truth: patience builds trust.

Some days, it felt like nothing was moving. But if I had given up, he would have gone to someone else. Instead, he came here, stood in our yard, and drove his hand across the side of a Yutong bus that will soon be carrying passengers in Kinshasa.

That’s a good image to keep in mind when work gets tiring.

For Future Buyers

If you are reading this because you’re also looking for a bus — whether in Africa, South America, or somewhere else — my advice is: take your time. Ask questions. Don’t just buy the cheapest thing you see online. A bus is an investment, and it should serve your business for years.

At Tianying Used Bus, we keep our doors open. You can visit, just like my Congolese customer did. You can sit in the bus, hear the engine, see the paperwork. That’s the only way you’ll feel truly comfortable.

I’ll be glad to help — even if it takes a year and a half.
